We get many questions regarding certain topics and consequently we have compiled a list of the most asked ones.

What should I look for when hiring a DJ?
When looking for a DJ, always go by what you want rather than what the DJ wants. If you are unsure about your options, seek direction from the DJ prior to the event. We have heard many stories where DJs have turned up to gigs and did not have songs that were suitable for the event.  A good DJ will make sure that the customer knows what they want prior to the event. In the case where the customer can't decide on what they want, the DJ should take some initiative and bring a variety of music. This is always what we do.

In all aspects, getting together with the DJ prior to the event helps in the planning of it as well as clarifies the requirements before the event takes place. Make sure you know what you want, and what you don't want from the DJ e.g. if you want some dance and trance music played, make sure the DJ has some of the tunes that you like.  Request to hear some of their songs if necessary before making your decision to hire them. If you want spotlights or a smoke machine and the venue doesn't provide it, make sure the DJ can organise it for you. We have spent quite a bit of time developing our site to enable customer's to have a good understanding of what we can offer.

Do you do weddings?
Yes, we do weddings. We have DJ'd at some weddings where the bride & groom have put together a playlist of their own songs.  In this instance, they compiled their own personal CD's of their favourite chosen songs arranged in the order they wanted them played at the reception.  If you would like us to play your own songs (that we don't have) then please feel free to create your own CD's and give them to the DJ prior to the event.  For convenience purposes, it would be highly appreciated and advised that a wedding program of the reception was made available before the wedding.  This entails an outline of the order of events for the night and the times they will occur  e.g. when guests are arriving between 6-6:30pm (play love songs), MC introduction @ 6.30pm (no song played), bridal waltz @ 7pm (play bridal waltz song) - so on and so forth.  This is kind of an instructions list that will let me know when to play what songs and at what times.  There's nothing worse than not knowing what to play and when to play it!  Not only will this make our life much easier but it will leave you feeling assured that the right music will be played at the right times on the night.

Once I have made a booking what do I do?
Our Booking Administrator will then contact you to discuss with you the details of your booking.  To make both our lives easier, we will also require you to download our Event Program form on our website.  This form is to be filled out and the final copy given to us two weeks prior to the event, outlining to us the order of events taking place on the day.  This ensures that we play the right music when you want and helps minimise the amount of misunderstandings on the night.

How many songs can I add to my playlist?
You can add as many songs to your playlist as you wish, but bear in mind that the duration of your event determines the amount of songs that can be played.  On average, …… songs can be played throughout a 5 hour event, but keeping in mind those times when music is not required (e.g. during speeches).  Therefore, it is suggested that you choose your songs carefully.

If we don't have the songs you want on our music database, then we can try and obtain them for you. But just let us know at least 2 weeks before the event. This gives us enough time to let you know whether we got them or not.

Help, I don't know what music I want and I don’t know what most of the music on your database sounds like. What do I do?
If you are stuck with the type of music you want played at your event, think about the kind of mood that you want to render, bearing in mind your guests who will be listening to the music.
